Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information — written to be actually readable.
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Saddle Up for Hope LLC ("Saddle Up for Hope," "we," "us") operates saddleupforhope.org. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why, and how we handle it. The short version: we collect only what you choose to give us, we use it only to run our programs, and we never sell it.
Information you give us
You may choose to share information with us through:
- The contact form — your name, email, phone (optional), and message.
- The participant application — information about your family and your child, including contact details, and — because our programs serve youth safely — sensitive information such as health, behavioral, and household-financial details you choose to provide.
- The mentor and volunteer applications — contact details, experience, availability, references, and background-screening answers.
- Donations — handled entirely by Zeffy, our donation platform (see "Donations" below). Card numbers never touch this website.
How we use it
Only to run Saddle Up for Hope: responding to your messages, reviewing applications, matching participants with programs and mentors, scholarship review, safety planning, coordinating volunteers, and thanking donors. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Children's information
Our programs serve youth, so parents and legal guardians share information about their children with us through the participant application. We treat that information with particular care: it is used solely for enrollment, scholarship consideration, program matching, and safety planning; access is limited to the people who need it to serve your family; and we do not share it outside the organization except as required by law (including mandatory reporting obligations that protect children). This website does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 — applications are completed by a parent or guardian.
Photos and stories
We only use photos, videos, or stories of participants when a parent or guardian has given permission through our media release. You can withdraw that permission for future use at any time by contacting us.
Donations
Our donation checkout is provided by Zeffy, which collects and processes your payment details on its own systems under its own privacy policy. We receive donor contact details and gift information from Zeffy so we can record and acknowledge your gift; we never see or store card numbers.
Service providers we rely on
- Formspree delivers and stores form submissions on our behalf.
- Zeffy processes donations.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and, like nearly every web host, keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the service.
- Sanity stores the website's published content (horses, events, program descriptions) — not visitor information.
Each provider processes information to provide their service to us, under their own security and privacy commitments.
Cookies & analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and shows no ads. The embedded Zeffy donation form may use cookies needed to process payments securely. If we add visitor analytics, we will use a cookie-free, privacy-respecting service that counts visits without identifying you, and we'll update this policy accordingly. Our fonts are self-hosted — this site makes no requests to Google Fonts or similar trackers.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep submissions and application information only as long as needed to administer our programs and meet legal and safety obligations. You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you or your family, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep records where the law or child-safety obligations require). Just email us.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Application information is accessible only to the limited people who review it, and sensitive application details are handled in our form provider's dashboard rather than forwarded around by email.
Changes & contact
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Questions, or a request about your information? Emailhello@saddleupforhope.org or call 706-300-0538.
